The Alexander Doll Company was founded in 1923 by Beatrice Alexander Behman and her sisters, Rose Alexander Schrecking, Florence Alexander Rapport, and Jean Alexander Disick, thus the name. The company is still in business today, although it has changed ownership twice. Their parents owned the first doll hospital in the United States. The girls grew up with an appreciation for fine dolls, and a respect on how to take care of them. The first Alexander dolls were made with cloth faces and soon were replaced with molded faces. Alexander used the finest materials available and took great pride in the way they were dressed and presented. bride is 17 inches tall and is in excellent condition. She is wearing her
original outfit complete with bridal gown, multiple layers of net and
crinoline slips, panties, hosiery, a sweet blue garter, satin slippers
with wooded high heels, and bridal veil. The veil is attached to a band
of flowers and is edged with the same lace that graces the dress. She
carries her bridal bouquet in one hand and has her official tag dangling

McGuffey Ana Madame Alexander #1525 1977 - 1986 McGuffy Ana is a pretty little breeze of spring time! Alexander used the Mary Ann mold in 1968 - 1969 with the number 1450, and again in 1977 - 1986 using the number 1525. The main difference between the two dolls was that there was lace trim over the shoulder on the earlier version, and not on the later. This McGuffey is the later version #1525. She has braided blonde hair and green open/close eyes. Her outfit is all original and she is in excellent condition. This doll and several others we have listed came from a dear sweet older lady. She spent her entire adult life collecting dolls. She took extra care in storing the dolls to prevent any damage. On all her Madame Alexander's, she placed the shoes in a clear bag and stapled them to the neck protector, and also stapled the neck holder to the sides of the boxes, making the boxes much more sturdy. It is hard to find dolls with sweeter
faces than Madame Alexander. This little cutie pie is 13 inches long with
a fully jointed body. She is in great condition and is wearing an original
richly embroidered dress and slip that is tagged Sweet Tears, booties, and
diaper. We have given her a new bottle and rattle to keep her company on
her trip to her new home. She has green open close eyes that work
perfectly and soft silky blonde hair.

little Darlin, however, has molded hair. She is wearing a precious

Sleeping Beauty
Sleeping Beauty is a darling
addition to any doll collection. She is in near mint condition, 14 inches
tall, complete with her original outfit. She has gorgeous bright blue eyes
that open and close properly. Her pinkish complexion has sweet pink
blushed cheeks, and she has long blonde hair. Sleeping Beauty is wearing a
precious yellow gown with a gold net overlay. The top is trimmed with
bright gold sequins, as is her gold sequined tiara. She is wearing silk
pantaloons, a pristine and stiff crinoline and little shimmery gold
slippers. The Classic Series were produced from 1971-1985, and this doll
is in a remarkable pristine condition for her age.
